The Back to School of RI is gearing towards its 24th Annual backpacks and school supplies distribution scheduled for Saturday, August 26 from 10:00-1:00pm. We are reaching out to your kindness and generosity, to continue this work and help make this year’s distribution a success. Our 2023 sponsorship form is attached.
Now more than ever, families need our help in making sure that children have the appropriate school supplies, resources and information at the start of the school year. For 24 years
the Back to School Celebration has worked diligently to keep the momentum growing and in the last 10 years alone, we have distributed 175,000 backpacks filled with school supplies throughout our urban communities,
providing support to our most needed families and students.
Our program, which started with the distribution of only 600 bags and few school supplies at a single site, has now expanded to twelve community sites with a distribution of 16,000 backpacks filled with school supplies and the access to on-site community partners and organizations who provide critical information to ensure students and families receive critical information and support to kick the school year ready for success.
